Pathways to Creative Occupations
We know that arts education develops the skills needed to successfully compete for any job: creativity, collaboration, communication and critical thinking.

The recently released 2015 Otis Report on the Creative Economy states that one out of six jobs in Los Angeles County is generated by the creative industries. While arts instruction is found in classrooms Countywide, our research revealed that students attending schools in areas with higher rates of poverty tend to have less access to arts learning than their peers. With 67% of the County’s public school students qualifying for free/reduced price meals, it's imperative that we address this disparity and prepare students to access employment opportunities in the creative economy.

Arts for All works with school districts to increase the quantity, quality and equity of arts instruction for LA County’s public school students. Learn more about the case for building pathways to creative occupations here.
