Gala Porras-Kim (1984, Bogotá, CO) lives and works in Los Angeles. Her research practice considers how sounds, language and history have been represented through methodologies of linguistics, and conservation. Her work has been included in the Sao Paulo Biennial (‘21), Gwangju Biennale (21’), Whitney Biennial (‘19) , Ural Industrial Biennial (‘19) and in exhibitions at LACMA (‘17), Seoul City Museum (‘17) , and Hammer Museum (‘16) . She will have upcoming solo exhibitions at Kadist/Amant, NY; Gasworks, London, Contemporary Art Museum, St. Louis, Transformer Station, Cleveland, and the Fowler Museum. She was a recent David and Roberta Logie Fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University and current artist in residence at the Getty.
