CASTING CALL YOUTH JUSTICE SEX EDUCATION FILMS

From the UCLA Art & Global Health Center (AGHC). We're excited to announce our latest film project in collaboration with the UCLA Prison Education Program. Spread the word! LA-based QBIPOC actors and non-actors are encouraged to audition for our short sexual health education films.

Applications are due Wednesday, September 7.

Three 10-minute fiction short films centered around topics including identity,
pregnancy and STIs, and consent. Our goal is to provide culturally relevant
sexual health education in spaces where access to this information may otherwise
not be accessible.

TARGET FILMING DATES
Shoot Dates in Los Angeles between
October 6-13, 2022. Exact Dates TBC.

Non-union, but paid To SAG-AFTRA
Non-broadcast/Corporate Educational
Rates.

LULU (Black female, early 20's)
Young confident and down to earth
black woman.

JACOB (Latinx male, early 20's)
Stylish, gender studies student
committed to helping those in the
community work through trauma and
get help when needed.

YOSI (Latinx, male, 18-early 20's)
A down-low gay Chicano poet.

PENELOPE (Latinx, female, 18-20's)
A young woman with poise and self-as:
surance. Someone with dance, perfor-
mance or choreography
experience preferred.

SUMMER (Black female, 40-45s)
Mother-figure to Lulu, generous and welcoming.
Keeping the family together while her husband is
incarcerated.

TRAVIS (Black male, 18-early 20's)
A young Black man who is hooking up with Yosi
and struggling with coming out.

JAMES (Latinx male, 18-early 20's)
A young, buff Chicano who is somehow both
intimidating and shy. He's a spoken word artist and
a performer, has a magnetic presence.

CHRIS (Afro-latino male, early 20's)
Struggles with Penelope's rejection and his own
toxic masculinity, but learns he needs to work on his issues.
